What is The Healer?
Reiki is a Japanese spiritual healing technique that uses energy, or life force, to promote healing. A Reiki Practitioner provides a conduit for universal energy by channeling this energy into a client in order to amplify the body’s ability to heal and balance itself. The most well-known type of Reiki practiced is Usui, named after Master Usui. It is thought that Master Usui, after years of searching for the healing method used by Buddha and Jesus, discovered Reiki and the attunement process. In addition to Usui Reiki, there are many other forms of Reiki that access different types and levels of energy.
Our bodies are energy systems that consist of varying states of energy. Our organs, muscles, and skeletal systems are all inert forms of energy. There are also chakras, meridian lines, and auras. Day-to-day life, stress, negative psychological emotions or attacks from others can wear us down, causing illness and dis-ease. A healing session is meant to recharge and realign the body’s energy systems in order to facilitate healing.
While it can be done from a distance, The Healer session normally consists of placing the palms of the hands along the body. My healings are an integration of techniques from my mental health background, shamanic training, Reiki training, and additional tenets that I have identified as necessary. Therefore, my sessions have layers of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual elements, depending on what needs are being presented. You can expect to lie, fully clothed, on a massage table for the duration of the healing. Since I include shamanistic elements, you can expect the use of stones, some drumming and rattling around your body, as well as discovering any power animals that present themselves. Some find the shamanistic dimensions of the healing to have more of an impact than pure energy work.
For some, a healing is a relaxing experience that may result in falling asleep. Others experience a more profound spiritual experience. Ultimately, the outcome is an intimate, personal experience with your own mind, body, & soul. Reiki is not meant to be a replacement for medical attention, nor does any Reiki Practitioner diagnose illness or disease. However, Reiki it may be used in conjunction with medical initiatives.
